We have two summer traditions we do every summer with our friends. The first one is going to the lake and the second is Lava Hot Springs (was lazy and didn't take pics there). But I did some at the lake.
Tristan got a coupon for Rent One Segway, get one free. So we invited our friends and after watching a little instructional video we were off. I was a little nervous at first, but it was pretty easy to ride and so much fun and addicting. We went by the river, ate some Mexican and kept going.
I only fell once (oops!!). This should be an annual tradition. We had a blast.
Tristan found out about renting forest ranger cabins a year or two ago. He usually books one for the males during the summer, but this summer we decided to try one out as a family. You couldn't ask for a prettier view from the front door (see panorama above). It's kind of like camping with benefits such as not having to bring tents. But we still cooked everything on the fire. There was no running water either.
It was right by hikes and water to wade through and throw rocks into. We had the sound of the waterfall keeping us company all night too.
The last picture is how many bites T got when he hiked up the mountain.
In the early-ish part of summer, I took the girl C in the back so she could play while I mowed the lawn. I started to mow and I couldn't see her for a long time. Finally I went back around the side on the house and this is where she was:
Apparently the lawn mower was a little frightening. She stayed there the whole time. Now she is quite comfortable with the lawn mower and can jump and swing while I mow and she doesn't have to hang out by the garbage anymore.
I've got a lot of catching up to do. I'm trying to decide if I'm still a blogger or not. I have discovered google plus-which I think is pretty cool.
It's kind of like a more private facebook, better skype, and blog all at once. I really like the circles because you can choose who wants to see your posts. Also we tried skype and the hangout on google plus and the google plus was much smoother and you can hangout with up to ten people for free. Just saying... If you want an invite let me know.
But, it still doesn't feel like a permanent record or a journal like a blog does.
Anyway, June is always pretty cold in Idaho until about Fathers Day but we attempted to go camping in the cold to Craters of the Moon with my parents.
It was downpouring for a few hours when we arrived.
But then it stopped and the next day was perfect for cave exploring.
