Wicked!!

First I have to show the cute Cinca De Mayo hat B made at school.  He has the best teacher!
Then I have to tell you about our trip to Boise to see Wicked.  We got a group together last fall
to get presale tickets.  So we ended up at the same hotel as some of our friends
We had to try Tucano's Brazilian Restaurant.  If you haven't been there
you need to save up and go.  They have a salad bar and such but more importantly they bring
you all of the meat you can eat.  We needed to be rolled out.  This is the guys standing
in front of guy heaven (all of the meat being cooked)

Saturday morning we went to a mass garage sale/flea market.  We found a few good deals.
Then we headed to the show.  We got there early so we stood on the upper level and watched half of our ward coming in.
Then it was showtime!!
I know this picture could be taken anywhere but it is hard to document a Broadway show!  I have heard so much about it, and know most of the most music so we were excited to check it out.
And we totally loved it.  It really is a great show.  We had a great time.

My parents watched the kids while we were gone.  It was a quick trip but I'm really glad we got to see Wicked.

Today

Funny things lately:
C came home from school totally excited because he had been wanting to take an art class and he had found one.  A subsitute duty aid had given him a card that had her name along with her business which was for martial arts.   Darn it all, that wasn't quite what we were looking for.

This morning T came in and told that he couldn't play with his friend L (who is moving to Colorado) today because he was going on a trip.  Then he told me he  he was moving to "Mashed Potatoes or America or something like that."  This is the kid who on Wii Mini Golf calls Kings Court- King Benjamin.  Despite being a little bored and ready for Kindergarten to start, I love watching his mind going in a million directions as he loves to learn and figure things out.

Other things lately:
I got rear-ended on the way home from the library yesterday.  It was a guy on his cell phone.  Luckily no one was hurt and it scratched my bumper and broke our taillight.  Stinking cell phones.

Speaking of cell phones, we got new ones this week.  Mine has a keyboard (not that I text that much but it looks cool).  It also tells me who is calling if they are in my contacts.

I got a new calling teaching the six-years olds in my ward.  I've done it twice so far.  I'm going to have to get my creative juices on to fill that time after the lesson.  They are sweet, active kids!! :)

We are getting new a new washer and dryer.  The washer has been giving grease stains to at least one lucky recipient of clothing each week.   The ruined clothes are starting to add up.

The girl C is so much fun right now.  I love watching her play and learn new words.  She loves to be "side" and picking "fowers" at all times.

My new goal

My name is Julie and I have an addiction.

To recipes.  (and collecting other craft and sewing ideas but we will save that for another day)

I love looking through blogs and recipe books.  But if I see a recipe that looks good, I'm like a shopoholic.  I can't not copy it or save it.  My recipe books are huge and obnoxious.

I know there are worse addictions out there.

And I have found some delicious recipes out there.

But I have probably tried less than 1% of the recipes I own.  And it is very time consuming to copy and organize so many recipes.

So, here is my goal that I am putting there for all to see:  (Hey, it has has helped me not chop my hair for the last seven months :)

No more looking at food blogs or recipe books (okay and craft blogs) from now until the first day of school.  Exception: looking for a specific recipe that I don't have and the real friends blog.

After school starts I want to limit myself to maybe one cookbook a month and one hour a month of blog browsing.

Think I can do it??

Overheard conversation

After church the boys were wanting to play "basketball" in the family room.
B "Let's clean up the family room so we can play.  Plus it's mothers day so we should do something nice."
T "I don't want to clean up the family room.  Plus, she already knows it Mothers day!"

Tyce graduated from preschool last night!!  My friend taught all my kids preschool and she is moving soon.
She does such a great job and the program is so cute.  Tyce got to say Wee Willie Winkie.
